Nepal is a developing country and Government alone cannot provide health care with standard and modern diagnostic and treatment facilities of all conditions to the population. Existing hospitals even in the capital lack adequate modern, up-to-date, hi-tech and expensive equipments and treatment facilities. Hence hospitals and specialty centers are coming up from the private sector and with the aids from International Non-Government Organizations (INGOs) and philanthropic aid to fill this void e.g. Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, etc.

This trend is increasing. Regarding qualified and trained specialists, the are gradually increasing in number in Nepal as Nepalese doctors return after obtaining post-graduate qualification and experience of work in the developed countries. Nepal also is imparting post-graduate degrees and specialized training to doctors. Not only to utilize these qualified and trained doctors but also to attract those non-resident Nepalese doctors working in foreign countries and also to provide services of excellence to the general population, such institutions should be started and encouraged to augment the health services in the country.
